Just one hundred metres from the “Graça” viewing point, you can find the “Nossa Senhora do Monte” viewing point, a hidden away place full of peace and quiet due to the few visitors it receives.
Close by is a 13th century Augustinian monastery surrounded by olive, pine and cypress trees. From the balcony, the view amidst such tranquillity is nothing but bewitching.
From one side you will look over the majestic castle, while from the other you can see the lower part of the city with its “Santa Justa” elevator tram, the bustling Rossio district, dark alleys and the “sea of straw”, which is what some call the river Tajo, due to its golden reflections.
