Theodore Roosevelt House

Theodore Roosevelt House (55)

Theodore Roosevelt, 26th president of the United States, popularly known as Teddie, was born and lived here until the age of 14 in 1858.

Although the original house was demolished in 1916, in 1923 the Women's Roosevelt Memorial Association decided to rebuild it as it was. Today the building houses a house-museum where different objects that belonged to Theodore Roosevelt are presented, as well as other parts of his life and interesting historical books.

The president was a man loved by Americans and great adventurer, naturalist and explorer. Maybe that is why, once you see his face in different pictures in the museum, he seems familiar. Surely you have seen him in a documentary or film because his is one of the faces carved into Mount Rushmore.
