Musée de la Magie

Musée de la Magie (90)

We always hear about the magic of Paris, but in this case we refer to the word quite literally.

In the very heart of the historic centre we recommend a different museum to you, perfect if you are with children.

We invite you to take a trip around the world of magic through its history, from the 18th century until the present.

The museum of curiosity and magic is a private museum and possesses a unique collection in the world. In total the museum houses more than 3,000 objects and antiques related to magic, optical illusions and automats.

Among its activities there are interactive games for children, as well as some demonstrations of how magic tricks work. The place, a vaulted basement which in itself is rather curious, and it would appear more curious to you if you knew that it was one of the places where the Marquis of Sade held his orgies.

Magicians make comments and guide the visit that ends with a session of magic. A true spectacle.

The museum also has a prestigious magic school, where recognised magicians give classes and share their secrets.

Find out about magic and the sciences on which it is based in order to be able to do their tricks, discover the mysteries of the most famous illusionists in history, Houdini, Kolta, de Vére... without doubt you will enjoy a very special visit. The museum is open on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sunday in the afternoons from 2 to 7 p.m.
