Cartuja 93 is a scientific and technological park located on the Isla de La Cartuja, occupying the western area that was once the main site of the 1992 World’s Fair. This project was created in 1993, with the explicit intention of profiting from the fair investments.

In fact, if you walk along Calle Leonardo Da Vinci you can still see a few of the most spectacular pavilions from the fair, which today are part of what is called the World Trade Center of Seville.

Cartuja 93 consists of five activities sectors: from cutting-edge technology companies and research centres to training facilities, including various buildings that are part of the University of Seville. When it comes to the zone’s importance, the numbers say it all, given that it generates € 1.6 million a year in economic activity and employs over 11 000 people.

As an additional treat, on the southern part of La Cartuja are gardens that surround the old Monasterio de Santa María de las Cuevas [Our Lady of the Caves Monastery].
