This church is located in the Plaza Ponce de León and was built in the 14th century on the ruins of an ancient mosque, preserving part of the mihrab and the minaret in its tower. The style is gothic-Mudejar, although the church has undergone inevitable architectural restorations and renovations throughout the years. In 1912, it was declared a National Monument and has been the canonical see of the “Hermandad de la Exaltación” from the beginning of the 17th century.

To the west, near Calle Alhóndiga, is the gothic entrance of the old Iglesia de Santa Lucía, demolished in 1930.

Enter the church through a charming horseshoe-shaped arch, and once inside, don’t miss the rectangular Capilla Sacramental, constructed in baroque style by Leonardo Figueroa in 1721. It contains a sculpture entitled "La Fe" by Miguel Quintero from 1724.

Also visit the Capilla de la Exaltación, home to the figure of Holy Christ of the Exaltation, a work by Pedro Roldán created in 1678, alongside the Virgin of the tears, an anonymous work from the 18th century, and Saint John the Evangelist.
